Video weighing of cows without scales
A top-view camera in the passage from the milking parlour films every cow, and a neural network estimates her live weight from the image. No scales and no driving the herd over a weighing platform: the weight is updated every time the cow walks under the camera.

Why a farm needs the weight of every cow
Weight loss after calving is an early sign of negative energy balance and ketosis risk.
Weight gain in dry cows and heifers shows readiness for insemination.
Drugs are dosed by actual weight, not by eye.
Weight sits in the animal card next to identification and lameness.
How it works
The camera is installed in the passage together with the identification cameras: the system recognises the cow on video and writes her weight to her card. Weight history is kept for every cow and is visible in the personal account.
